BORDERS Alert and Ready® the Biochemical Organic Radiological Disaster Educational Response System, is a continuing education and training program operated by the University of North Dakota Research Foundation in cooperation with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. BORDERS Alert and Ready® is designed to improve the individual and collective ability of healthcare professional practitioners to prepare for and respond to acts of bioterrorism in increasingly diverse situations and populations.
BORDERS Alert and Ready® provides healthcare practitioners with multidisciplinary training as a means for building a coordinated, efficient, and effective public health emergency detection and preparedness system recognizing no boundaries. BORDERS Alert and Ready ® is designed to increase the understanding of issues related to bioterrorism and other emergencies and disasters, and to better prepare all healthcare personnel to recognize threats and more effectively deal with the consequences of actual events.
BORDERS Alert and Ready® is designed to educate our present and future workforce regarding the ever-changing and complex realities of the 21st century. Discipline-specific faculty participating in BORDERS are responding to the increased need for shared learning experiences and additional curricular activities via an integrated, multi-tiered array of on-line and on-site learning opportunities. Through community-oriented learning, teams of healthcare professionals take part in a learner-motivated approach to patient-centered care.
